<![CDATA[Social Responsibility, Social Media, and the NGO Survey]]>Sat, 20 Apr 2013 15:54:51 GMThttp://bmi3c.weebly.com/1/post/2013/04/social-responsibility-social-media-and-the-ngo-survey.htmlGood Morning,
I woke up this fine Saturday morning to snow and an interesting tweet from CANTreeHuggers about how we are wasting paper by printing our marketing research surveys for the Social Media Campaign project. Excellent point about wasting paper and it ties in with our Social Media Campaign project, the lecture by Tonya
Surman
on Social Innovation, and the growing importance of Corporate Social Responsibility in the world of Marketing and Business.

There are some simple solutions to reduce printing surveys that some of you have already taken, but I take responsibility for not providing these solutions on my initial project description. The solutions include "Ziad's Strategy" of a one page Answer Sheet and Hatim and Minh's use of an on-line survey, which people should take and find the tool on their WWF Campaign Wiki page.

In our first Unit on Marketing fundamentals, we discussed Phiip Kotler's book Marketing 3.0. and the growing importance of Corporate Social Responsibility in Marketing. We also have a "Marketpedia" Wiki page on Social Responsibility in Marketing.

In our current unit, our summative project is to develop and write a Marketing campaign using social media, such as Twitter and Facebook, to promote a NGO and it's social innovation objectives, such as promoting environmental sustainability (saving paper). A number of groups have selected NGO's that focus on environmental issues and teams should remember to include some information and links to promote your NGOs on your Social Media Campaign Wiki pages .

To make a long Blog post short, please add information and an on-line survey on your Social Media Campaign NGO Wiki pages and update our "Marketpedia" Corporate Social Responsibility Wiki page!

On the Social Media Campaign Proposal students should have already completed the NGO Web Quest and working on the Phase 2 - Research (Complete Draft Survey).

Finally, we will be in the Library on April 16 and the Teacher / Librarian will review how to complete APA in-text Citations to help you properly cite your sources in the text for your Marketpedia Wiki pages.]]>
